STACC has expanded
its mobile clinic service in villages near Ile-Ife, Osun State. The
Medical School at Obafemi Awolowo University facilitates the work.
Many infants in this area suffer from malaria. STACC has already provided
1000 insecticide-treated bednets to protect sleeping children from the
bites of the mosquitoes that transmit malaria parasites. Arrangements
are being made to provide a further thousand bednets, as recommended by
the World Health Organization. Children's lives are saved by this intervention.
