Health care for Maasai children living around Lake Magadi in Kenya began in 2007. So far 8,000 children have been reached directly or indirectly through helping their mothers.

Insecticide treated bednets are provided to protect children from mosquito-borne malaria.

Mothers are given plastic containers and are taught techniques for making drinking water safer.

Education sessions promote better personal and home hygiene.

New bednets to take home
Demonstrating how to use bednets
Learning how to treat the bednets with insecticide

Bags of food for the children

Distribution of new buckets for safer water
A health and hygiene education session

The BION project is registered with the Kenyan government.
